In life, it is always good to handle life with a sense of calmness and patience. And this practice is becoming more crucial and essential to us as our pace of life speeds up. We are often told to multitask. While this- on the surface- seems efficient (how many times have you listen to music while doing work?), engaging in other activities while doing something often means that our mind is distracted, yes? Personally, I feel that focus is still the primary ingredient to producing productive work results.
But focus is not sufficient. We need to also work on developing a sense of calmness and patience in ourselves. This is especially so when we are handling work that requires stringent deadlines. Such work often makes us impatient and frustrated. This should not be the case. In fact, when we are facing such situations, it is even more important that we are calm when doing them. If we can’t, then it’s best to engage in other activities such as sports (cardiovascular exercises such as jogging or static exercises such as stretching are good activities to engage in) or even taking a walk in the park. While engaging in such activities, it is important that we take our mind off any worries that we have. And when we come back to the issue(s) at hand, we can usually solve it with ease.
Nothing in life is solved through impatience and frustration. In fact, resolving issues when we are in such a state of mind often jeopardise rather than improve the situation.
So, do allow yourself to calm down before handling any situations.
