A gift for students and lifelong learners

In recent years, there are many people pursuing things that they consider valuable. Cars, private residences and credit cards are some things that they are working towards. It seems that possessing such things is able to bring them joy. And the world – with the idea of pursuing happiness through possession – seems to reinforce this perception. However, if we are to read the news or simply look around, we can see that not all wealthy individuals are happy or carefree. In fact, some of them are not happy at all. It could be because of the result of having to maintain such a luxurious lifestyle or it could be the long working hours required to sustain their lifestyle.  So, how can it be that being wealthy makes us happy? There must be something else.

And indeed, to be happy, a whole different set of ingredients are needed. And they are as follows:

  • Respect
  • Honesty
  • Trust
  • Soberness
  • Organised
  • Courteous
  • Punctuality
  • Kindness
  • Humour
  • Righteousness
  • Generosity
  • Responsibility

Regardless of how much wealth we have accumulated,  I believe that we are already rich if we have all if not most of the above qualities.
